Free to start, coins for the extras

Nothing on Voxxy asks for a card before your first conversation. What you spend later depends on two things: how many free matches are left on your account, and whether you choose a paid extra. Below is how each part behaves, without pinning numbers that would go stale.

At the start screen

  • No sign-up to begin. Pressing start takes you into the queue directly; there is no form and no email to confirm first.
  • Your free matches are spent first. Everyone starts with a balance of them, and your own count is printed on the start screen.
  • Sometimes there is a bonus. A reward may be sitting on the start screen — a few more free matches, or coins. Whether one appears, and how big it is, varies.

During a voice call

  • A timer runs from the moment you connect. It counts down the free stretch of the call, and a notice lands on screen just before the meter switches to coins.
  • Leave before the timer ends and the minutes cost nothing. Stay past it and each further stretch is paid from your coin balance.
  • If the coins get low, you will be prompted to top up. Say no and the session finishes there, sometimes with a prompt to add coins afterwards.

What needs an account

  • Buying coins needs an account, so a balance can follow you between browsers.
  • Editing your profile needs an account too.
  • Starting a match and ending a call do not.

Where the prices actually are

  • The wallet holds the numbers, not this page. Pack sizes and the price of each paid option sit there in your own currency, shown before anything is confirmed.
  • Nothing is charged without a step you took. A price is shown before you select a paid option, and the call notice arrives before coins start moving.
  • “Free to start” is not “all of it is free”. It means one conversation costs nothing to begin. Extensions and extras are the part that draws on coins.

Starting costs nothing — the timer is what tells you when that changes.
